We take a look at the settings of Gnome. Add the applications you want to the dash of Gnome. Right mouse click will remove an application from the dash again.
Add the settings and gnome-tweak-tool to your dash you will need it.

Bear in mind that this video is created on a desktop and not a laptop. No wifi, no battery, etc.
Sound tool is present. I have pavucontrol installed for my bluetooth headset.
Tip : Super + Shift + D is a menu I migrated from i3wm.
Keyboard shortcuts are hidden away quite deep. Go to Devices and Keyboard.
Preferred applications are also hidden away quite deep. Go to Details and Default Applications.
